Errors & limits
Status codes, rate limits and environments.
Status codes
401: the credential is missing or invalid.403: the credential doesn’t have the permission the endpoint requires. The message names it, for exampleorders:CreateOrder.404: no such record in your environment.400/422: validation failed. The body lists the invalid fields.409: a value that must be unique is already in use, such as an order number, a SKU or a wall name. The message names the field.429: rate limited. See below.
Rate limits
The default is 60 requests per minute per key, and it can be changed per key on API Access. Every response includes RateLimit-Limit, RateLimit-Remaining and RateLimit-Reset. If you get a 429, wait until the reset time before retrying.
Environments
Each credential belongs to one environment. Production is the live warehouse. The sandbox is a copy of production that an administrator can create for testing changes. To use the sandbox, create the key while working in the sandbox. Your code stays the same; only the key changes.
